A little about me:

 Hi, I’m Day (they/them)!

As a queer and non-binary trans therapist, I know how much of a difference it makes to feel not only heard but also known and deeply understood. My goal is to create a safe container that affords you room to reflect, grow, and develop the tools and skills you need and desire to take on life’s never-ending challenges.

My areas of specialization include working with those who experience and are looking for support with chronic illness/pain, trauma-related dissociative symptoms, gender identity, sexual orientation, neurodivergent individuals, and those who have experienced complex trauma.

I work with clients in both an individual and relationship capacity using an attachment lens, and my therapeutic passions include helping others obtain a deeper understanding of their relationships and nurture connection and emotional intimacy with one another. I have experience working with non-monogamous individuals, gender-expansive youth, and those who struggle with accessing self-compassion.

I take a person-centered and strengths-based approach to the therapeutic environment, which means I offer individualized care that emphasizes the inherent strengths and capabilities of my clients. I engender a compassionate, affirming, and non-judgmental space for us to work together, and I practice through a lens of radical acceptance and compassion.

Background

I am a queer, trans, neurodivergent, and chronically ill and disabled white person living in Atlanta, GA with a passion for community and mutual aid. I prioritize maintaining cultural humility and am committed to ongoing self-education on the effects of privilege on positionalities outside of my own.

I obtained my Master’s of Social Work from the University of Georgia in May 2021, and I hold anti-racist & anti-oppressive values that are reflected both in the therapy space and my personal life.

When I’m not working, you will likely find me identifying bird calls in the woods, thrifting for flannels, hiking with my two dogs, or spending quality time with my loved ones.
